Heart of the Season - Traditional Weekly Stays - 7 Night Stays

Enjoy an all inclusive 7 night stay at our ranch! These week long stays include: 3 great meals a day, 6 days of horseback riding with our wranglers in the beautiful Bridgeport Valley and surrounding mountains, and 7 nights lodging in our comfortable cabins. Also included are enjoyable evening activities such as creek-side cookouts, campfire sing-alongs with s’mores, hayrides, roping practice, square dancing, and talent night. Our 7 night stays give you the opportunity to enjoy all our ranch has to offer: riding, moving cows, relaxing, breathtaking scenery, friendships, and more, from the moment you awake to the moment your head hits the pillow. Check in after 3pm on Saturday and depart the following Saturday after breakfast.

If you don’t have quite enough time to come for a week, but you still want to be able to relax and settle in to life at the ranch, this is the vacation for you! Our 5 Day Packages include many of the activities offered during our weekly stays. If you decide you just can’t get enough of the ranch in 5 days, most of the 5 Day Packages can be extended to 7 Night Stays. You’ll arrive Saturday for dinner and depart Thursday after lunch. Rate includes meals, riding Sunday through Thursday morning, lodging Saturday night through Wednesday night, and ranch activities.

Rates: Double occupancy $1,549 per person, child age 10-12 $1,316, child age 6-9 $884, child age 5 & under $300, single occupancy $1,759.

4th of July Celebration Weekly Stay

June 29– July 6, 2013, and New 6 Night Stay, June 29-July 5, 2013

Experience Bridgeport's unique and unforgettable 4th of July. In addition to all the signature rides and activities that we have to offer, you will be able to ride horseback with us in Bridgeport's 151st 4th of July Parade, the oldest continuously run parade in the U.S. It's a wonderful slice of old-west Americana! The 4th is always a memorable time here at Hunewill's, as the parade is followed by a special barbeque back at the ranch, and the day is topped off by watching Bridgeport's spectacular fireworks show against the silhouette of the rugged Sierra. End the week pushing cows up into Buckeye Canyon, a long all day ride into the high country, or regular loping meadow rides. You will arrive Saturday for dinner and depart the following Saturday after breakfast if staying a week, or depart Friday after breakfast if you've chosen our 6 Night Stay. Buckaroo Moon 5 Day Package

Ride your horse through the meadows by the light of the moon on our only moonlight ride of the summer! It’s an experience you won’t want to miss. This exciting package also includes an opportunity to practice your target shooting, go on loping meadow rides, move cattle, and take part in a walking history tour of the ranch. As fall draws near, join us to celebrate the end of summer with this super deal at the ranch. This escape is perfect if you want a getaway loaded with Hunewill Ranch style fun. Rate includes Saturday dinner through Wednesday lunch, horseback riding Sunday through Wednesday morning, and lodging Saturday night through Tuesday night. These rates reflect a 20% savings off our off season rate.

High Sierra Cowgirl Vacation 3 Day Package

September 13-16, 2013

Want a girls only get-away? Whether you come by yourself or with a group of friends, you are sure to enjoy this ladies only horseback retreat. Enjoy that special horse-to-woman bond, lope through meadows, move cows, ride through the high Sierra, and groom your equine buddy after a day spent horseback. Rate includes Friday dinner through Monday lunch, horseback riding Saturday through Monday morning, and lodging Friday night through Sunday night.

Fall Color Ride

September 27-October 1, 2013

Ride through aspen groves aglow with the orange and gold of the season as we take spectacular day rides of varying lengths from the meadows to the high country of the Eastern Sierra. You will arrive Friday for dinner and depart Tuesday after breakfast. Rate includes meals Friday dinner through Tuesday breakfast, horseback riding Saturday through Monday, and lodging Friday night through Monday night.

Stays Geared Specifically Toward Cattle Work

Spring Cattle Work

May 28-June 1, 2013

Work cattle in Bridgeport and at our Smith Valley, Nevada ranch with Hunewill Family members. Some of the jobs you’ll do include moving cows, parting cows from the herd, and possibly branding and doctoring. Guests will participate and learn many traditional cowboy skills. This work will be geared towards riders with intermediate to advanced riding abilities. Rate includes meals Tuesday dinner through Saturday breakfast, riding and cattle work Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and lodging Tuesday night through Friday night.

Rates: Double occupancy $997 per person, single occupancy $1,125.

The Big Fall Cattle Gather Week

September 4-11, 2013

Spend a week gathering our cows out of the high country and driving them back to the ranch. Enjoy camping out under the stars for two nights (optional), chuck wagon meals, cowboy music, and long satisfying days in the saddle during this traditional end of summer cowboy event. You must have intermediate to advanced riding skills to participate in this experience. Rate includes meals Wednesday dinner through Wednesday breakfast, horseback riding Thursday through Tuesday, and lodging Wednesday night through Tuesday night.

Fall Cattle Work 4 Night Stay

Fall at the ranch is a time filled with essential cattle work. Whether you’re looking for cattle in the high country, moving cattle nearer to the ranch, or parting calves from cows, these activities are a part of the timeless Hunewill tradition that is the essence of this special stay. This stay is geared towards intermediate to advanced riders. Bring your own horse or ride one of ours. You will arrive Monday for dinner and depart Friday after breakfast. Rate includes meals, horseback riding, lodging, and all ranch activities.

Hunewill Ranch Cattle Drive

November 10-16, 2013

Enjoy the ultimate old-west experience on Hunewill Ranch’s 104th cattle drive! You will ride with the Hunewill family for five days, covering sixty miles from Bridgeport, California to Smith Valley, Nevada herding 600 cows as they are driven to their winter range. The route follows the historic tracks of the gold-rush era Carson City stagecoach road through some of the most spectacular country in the west. After a satisfying day with the herd you will return each night to the ranch for a hot meal and a warm bed. You must have intermediate to advanced riding skills to participate in this drive. The cattle drive takes place rain, snow, or shine, so be prepared for all types of weather!

Rates: Double occupancy $1,771 per person, single occupancy $2,029.

Deposit Information

Deposit Requirements for Reservations

Deposit requirements are approximately 50% of your stay.  No reservation is confirmed until deposit is received.

Cancellation/Deposit Refund Policy

Deposit refund, less a 25% office fee per deposit, will be made only if we are able to fill the vacant space left by your cancellation. No refund of deposit if cancellation is made with less than 21 days notice to us. Guests concerned with loss of deposit may want to consider purchasing Trip Insurance.
